a special benefit show!
Very much looking forward to being part of tonight’s very special fundraiser at Pianos… it’s the “A Holiday Benefit, Volume 3” Fundraiser, benefitting 826nyc.org
$10 admission gets you a copy of “A Holiday Benefit, Volume 3,” featuring recordings of Holiday songs old and new by good folks such as Chris Abad, Misty Boyce, Chris Cubeta, Bryan Dunn, Emily Easterly, Ruby Rivers, Bess Rogers, Casey Shea, Paula Valstein, Benjamin Wagner, and Emily Zuzik (my track, “Christmas Already,” is a new recording of a song I wrote just a few years back).
I will be opening the show at 8pm, playing with my pals Craig Meyer on drums, Chris Kuffner on guitar, Ryan Vaughn on percussion, and Tony Maceli on bass.
There’s a silent auction too! I might’ve been late to the party offering my complete discography as part of the silent auction, but it might be in there, alongside generous contributions from many of the artists performing on the album and at this fundraiser.
Sadly, though, I need to race outta there right after we play and head on over to The Bitter End, where I’ll be playing my last full-band show of the decade. We’re performing along with The Greg Mayo Band (it’s Greg’s birthday show, and he was kind enough to ask us along for the fun), and afterward, both bands will combine, along with many many extra-special guests, to perform The Beatles’ Abbey Road in its entirety. Too many guests to even name! It’s gonna be, as my nephew so eloquently says, nuts.
See you later. :)
ps - i made a pathetic little video for our Bitter End show tonight. Its my first foray into the realm of video editing (if that’s what you even want to call it; I use that term severely loosely).
